<P>The textbook presents the basic theories of the most important spectroscopic methods which are used for molecular structure investigations. This book begins with a brief review of light, bulk electric and magnetic properties of matter, theory of groups, quantum mechanical principles and numerical calculations of molecular spectroscopy. Fundamental principles, practical tools and experimental arrangements are considered with the focus on the possibilities and limitations of different spectroscopic methods. The textbook is well illustrated, each chapter contains exercises and lists of supplementary reading.</P>
