The main focus of the book is to develop insights and ideas concerning the use of mathematical and computer modeling as a tool for systemic studies of aging and longevity, and as an important supplement to experimental studies of these phenomena.</P>
<P>The book consists of four parts. Part I describes the contemporary state of experimental gerontology and discusses research directions having the highest priority. Part II outlines the current situation in the area of mathematical and computer modeling in gerontology and provides evidence on how such a tool may contribute to the studies of aging and longevity. Part III presents new approaches to statistical modeling of aging in populations of laboratory animals. Part IV describes new directions of mathematical modeling of aging and longevity in humans.</P>
