The new textbook is designed according to present-day university programs for future chemists and chemical engineers. It introduces the basics of thermodynamics and sums up the issues of phase equilibrium and chemical equilibrium, theory of solution, electrochemical thermodynamics and the elements of thermodynamics of surface phenomena. It is also supplemented with problems and solutions.

The book is based on the materials used by the author at his lectures for 2nd and 3rd year students of Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia, which allowed to outline briefly and clearly a great part of the present course of physical chemistry.
