This is the first tutorial presenting the current state of production technology of the most important natural high-molecular-weight compounds, applied in biomedical fields, such as polysaccharides (algae polysaccharides, cellulose and its derivatives, amylum, mucopolysaccharides, chitin and chitosan, dextrans, pectins), proteins (collagen, gelatin, insulin, blood products, lectins) and natural polyesters. It considers not only the formulation of biomedical products from polymers, but also the ways of their usage.
